About Nar Un
Nar Un, was born with an understanding of the journey of wheat from the field to the table.
This is a journey trying to understand the labour of the farmer, the patience of the baker and the true value of bread.
We ferment and bake our own bread from the flour we grind every day. Because the best way to tell what a good flour is is the bread made from that flour. That's why we know the story of our flour from beginning to end: from the soil where it grows, to the hands that grind it and finally to the bread baked in your kitchen.
We know that good flour leavens not only bread but also memories.
The most beautiful moments of life often start with things made from scratch. The time spent waiting for a dough to ferment, the smell of bread coming out of the oven and people meeting at the same table... This is exactly what Pomegranate Flour wants to keep alive: the simple happiness brought by patience, labour and sharing.
“Pomegranate Flour exists for those who believe in slow rising dough, for breads that are sometimes humble but always sincere, for moments that bring family and friends together at the kitchen table...”
It represents an understanding that has adopted the principle of walking side by side with the bakers, taking care of their needs and with the masters who understand the language of the dough.

Innovative Solutions, Sustainable Future
Accumulation from the Earth,
A Story Reaching to Industry
Kırtız family's history is based on a deep-rooted farming culture that started in the fertile lands of Central Anatolia. The labour, trade vision and production discipline accumulated over generations constitute the core values of the Nar Flour brand today.
Origins from the Earth
The story of the Kırtız family begins in the village of Karailyas in Ankara Polatlı district. It is based on farming, a large family organisation and land-based production culture. Halim Kırtız has grown up in the production life by using tractors and harvesters since he was a child.
Transition to Trade and Diversifying Business Lines
While farming life in the village continued, the family moved to the centre of Polatlı, where they started to trade. Halim Kırtız was active in different fields ranging from transport to tractor trading, from mineral oil to pulses trade. He also played an active role in the development of regional trade as one of the founders of the Polatlı Commodity Exchange.
Industrialisation and “From Farm to Table” Vision
The family's first step into industry was taken with the flour factory established in Polatlı. The aim of this structure was to establish an integrated system where wheat is transported from the field to the factory and from there to the tables as bread. Thus, the accumulation from farming was combined with the understanding of trade and industry.
Innovative Trade with Mobile Laboratory
As an innovative step in Turkey, a mobile laboratory caravan was developed to go to the farmers' doorsteps, Samples were analysed on site, enabling rapid evaluation and pricing. This system has been an important indicator of the quality control approach that goes down to the field and the approach of establishing a strong bond with the producer.
Laboratory Oriented Quality Period
Established in 2003, wheat is not only used as a commercial product, It has started to be evaluated as a strategic raw material analysed according to protein and quality values. This approach has strengthened the understanding of standard, trust and quality that forms the basis of Nar Un.
Transition to Antalya and the Birth of Pomegranate Flour Brand
In 2006, with the strategy of growth by division, Halim Kırtız, a branch of the Kırtız family, moved to Antalya, The Pomegranate Flour brand was realised with the purchase of a flour factory here. The culture of Döşemealtı region, which is identified with pomegranate, inspired the name of the brand in the sense of fertility and multiplication.
Facility Modernisation and Capacity Increase
All cleaning and production lines of our factory have been completely renewed down to the smallest part and modernised. Thanks to this comprehensive transformation, our production capacity has been significantly increased; the daily wheat crushing capacity of 350 tonnes has been increased to 650 tonnes. With the renovation, productivity and production quality have been brought to the highest level, and our facility has been harmonised with the current standards of the sector.
Modern Packaging and New Generation Production Period
Our packaging systems have been modernised and our production processes have become faster and more efficient. Fully automatic systems with a flour loading capacity of 1,400 sacks per hour were commissioned, and a bulk flour loading capacity of 30 tonnes per hour was reached. In order to support animal husbandry in our region, bran and ledge silos independent from the factory building were established; a fully automatic bran packaging system with a capacity of 500 sacks per hour was integrated into the production line. Nar Flour Artisan Series was launched, and an important step was taken in the field of product diversity and sustainability by commissioning the kraft packaging unit.
